Sean Martinez

Piano Instructor

A native of Massachusetts, Sean began his piano studies in Lowell with Michael Hutchinson when he was 13. He later studied with Angel Rivera at the Rivers Music School in Weston, MA where he had much success in competitions and as a soloist. Under Rivera’s tutelage, Sean performed concerti with the Rivers Orchestra and Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra, to which he was occasionally invited back as an orchestral pianist. He has also worked as an accompanist for competitions, auditions, and other performances. Sean began his Bachelor of Music degree with Nina Svetlanova at Manhattan School of Music and is currently continuing his studies at Longy School of Music.

As a teacher, Sean has experience working with children and adults of all ages. His extensive command over the classical repertoire and technique combined with his eclectic knowledge of teaching methods allows him to adapt easily to any student. He has prepared students for the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) and ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) exams, all with great success. He has also served on the judge panel of piano competitions in New York.
